Friends of St James'

The Blue Town Trio

THURSDAY 15th September - The Blue Town Trio

Time: 7pm for 7:30pm at St James's Church, Nayland

Join us at St James's Church for an evening of 'light' jazz, blues and song.

The “Blue Town trio” features the talented, London-based, vocalist Zoe Francis, the legendary multi-award winning guitarist Jim Mullen, (Average White Band, Jimmy Smith, Georgie Fame, Sir Paul McCartney) and the incomparable Ross Stanley (Alfie Boe, Simply Red) on Hammond organ.

The Trio will perform set of classic standards with fresh arrangements including songs like “Spring can really hang you up the most”, “Too late now”, “Who can I turn to”, “Skylark”, “My one and only love”, “In a sentimental mood”, and “Cinema Paradiso”.  A selection of bittersweet standards, indeed,  with lyrics which capture our moods whether reminiscing, daydreaming, hopeful or heartbroken.

Zoe’s beautiful voice set against the rich layers of sound from Ross’s Hammond and Jim’s melodic blues lines make this trio sound like a “mini orchestra”.  Not to be missed.
